Alex Rodriguez determined to turn things around – MLB New York Yankees Update
According to a leading sports website, New York Yankees’ third baseman Alex Rodriguez is determined to turn things around in the next season. Rodriguez had a forgettable time on the plate during the 2012 regular season.
Known for his unmatchable hitting abilities, A-Rod managed to hit just 18 home-runs with 57 RBI’s. His batting average of .272 was also considerably less than his career average. Manager Joe Girardi used him as a pinch hitter in three post-season games but
the move did not change the results.
General Manager Brian Cashman wanted to move Rodriguez in this winter. However, since A-Rod has a no trade clause on his contract, Yankees will be looking to get the best out of him in the next season.
“I’m always worried about whatever move I make, how it affects the club, how it affects a player,” Girardi said last week.

“He’s been very good to me over the years so he has a lot of equity with me,” said A-Rod of Girardi.
There is no denying the fact Rodriguez has exceptional hitting skills. When inform, he can single handedly change the complexion of the game.
There were rumours that Yankees’ Manager Joe Girardi had issues with Rodriguez, forcing him to bench the third baseman in three post-season games. To make sure their relationship was not damaged any further, Girardi phoned up Rodriguez on Friday.
"I made decisions based on the season, a month, what I'd seen," Girardi said last week at Yankee Stadium. "For me to go back and say I would have changed anything, these weren't just, 'Let me go off the top of my head and make a decision.' These were things
we evaluated a lot before we made our decisions."
The source further claimed that Rodriguez and Girardi had a great conversation. The Manager spoke to Rodriguez about his importance to the Yankees in the upcoming season.
It seems the skipper is ready to take care of his off season to do list. It will be interesting to see if A- Rod can learn from his mistakes to post better numbers in 2013 season.
Yankees’ fans will be looking forward to seeing Rodriguez improve his form and come out strong during Spring Training.
