New York Yankees will be feeling very confident about themselves after beating Kansas City Royals 2-1 in a three game series of the 2012 Major League Baseball regular season. There is no denying the fact the Yankees some of the best hitters and pitchers
in their lineup but for some reason, the Yankees have not been able to give results on regular basis.
Yankees had lost majority of their games in the last ten matches, which sent them to last place for a day. However, it seem that 2-7 stretch that troubled them immensely is a distant memory and they will now preparing for their series against Oakland Athletics,
Los Angeles Angels and Detroit Tigers.
“We wanted to make sure we got those last two games and that’s exactly what we did,” Nick Swisher said. “It takes a little bit of the heat off before the long road trip. This is going to be good.”
“Just getting back on the road, we can focus on nothing but baseball,” Swisher said. “We’ve got a group of guys in here that all likes each other, so going on the road is fun.”
“It’s not that we want to get away from home, but it’s just kind of you and the guys, in a sense,” Joe Girardi said. “It’s a bonding time.”
Yankees are considered to be a team with most resources in the American League and the fans will be expecting them to make it to the playoffs with easy. Their prime hitter, Alex Rodriguez has also started to show signs of form as he homered against the Kansas
City Royals to help the Yankees secure an import series victory.
For the Yankees, it will be extremely important to ensure that Rodriguez is in good shape as he can play a key role in deciding the outcome of this season. Manager Joe Girardi and his men will take a lot of confidence from their win against the Royals and
it will be interesting to see if they can put up a similar show in their future games to put themselves in an assertive position.
