Alex Rodriguez still not at his best – MLB New York Yankees Update
There is no denying the fact Alex Rodriguez is one of the most dynamic and talented hitters in Major League Baseball right now. Since making his debut with New York Yankees, the striker has given some astonishing performances, helping the club secure memorable
wins. However, the running season has proved to be a disappointing one for him so far.
Considering he is the highest paid athlete in the American League, there were great expectations from Rodriguez before the start of 2012 season but it will not be wrong to say that he has not been able to fulfill his immense potential.
When he had a two home-runs game against Kansas City Royals about a week and half ago, it seemed he has finally found his lost form that will propel him on a hot streak but unfortunately for the Yankees it did not turn out to be the case as Rodriguez failed
to get past first base with a swing of his bat.
“If I get a night like (Tuesday) where I’m on base four times, I’ll take that all day long,” said Rodriguez. “That is the equivalent of hitting a couple of doubles or a home run. At the end of the day, those guys behind me are very talented, and they’re
going to be driving in runs.”
“I think, when you trust each other, that’s when your offense operates best,” Rodriguez said. “At the end of the day, whoever’s hitting behind — whether you walk once, twice — the more you get on base, eventually those guys are going to come up with a big
hit.”
Hard hitting A-Rod is averaging .292 with just one RBI and no extra base hits during New York’s road trip. Although the Yankees won four out of six games against Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Angels, Rodriguez continued to struggle with his bat.
Unlike Rodriguez, Mark Teixeira, Curtis Granderson and Robinson Cano have shown plenty of power this season, Rodriguez has performed on a very limited scale. It appears as if something big is coming from Rodriguez. The man who has hit 636 home-runs and 500
doubles in his careers is surely going to bounce back.
