Alex Sandro joins FC Porto, Danilo to follow in January – Primeira Liga News
FC Porto have agreed a deal with Santos for both of their prized assets, Alex Sandro and Danilo. While Sandro signs immediately, Danilo will join the club in the January transfer window.
Danilo to join the Porto in January
Brazilian U-20 star, Danilo, has agreed personal terms with the Dragons while Santos have also conducted successful negotiations. However, according to the agreement reached by the two clubs, Danilo will move to Estadio do Dragao in January.
Initially thought to be on the radar of Juventus, AC Milan and Benfica, the starlet eventually rejected all offers and chose the Portuguese Champions as the best way to further his career.
Since he has not come under direct employment of the club yet, Danilo was keen to place his allegiance in the hands of Santos for the time being and claimed that he would do everything in his abilities to make sure that the club win the Brazilian League
and the Club World Cup.
"I am very happy with this new stage in my life that starts in January, it is a great club [who are] used to winning titles too."
"But in the meantime, [I will] continue giving blood for Santos and I, along with my teammates, want to be the champions [of] http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 and the World Club Championship in December," he stated on his Twitter account.
Danilo was originally targeted by Benfica as a replacement for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 enticed the player with more financially lucrative offer and secured his signature.
The fee paid by the Dragons is believed to be in the region of €13 million and is mooted to be a bargain buy given the reviews Danilo has received. However, the Portuguese giants will have to wait until January to see what sort of return they get from their
investment.
