Seeded seventh in the draw, Alexander Bury of Belarus made a strong comeback after getting down in the first set and defeated the world number 836 from Russia, Mikhail Vaks, in the second round of the qualifying draw at the Siberia
Open in Tyumen, Russia.
Bury went down in the opener but grabbed the following two to capture the match in three sets 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 in one hour and 25 minutes and book his place in the final round.
Both players started in a steady manner, holding their serve in the first eight games to even out the score at 4-4. Vaks struck at that moment and capitalised on his advantage to seal it 6-4.

Bury was too good on the first deliveries but he put on a poor show on the second ones, losing 10 of the 16 points on them including seven horrible double faults.
Vaks made an ideal start in the second set, hitting blows to Bury in the first and third game to attain a 3-0 lead. Just when the Russian was looking in a position to win the contest, Bury completely turned around the course of
the match, playing flawlessly and grabbing six consecutive games to clinch it 6-3.
The Belarusian contestant pounded five aces and 68 percent of the first serves, securing 11 of the 17 points on them. He reduced his double faults to two but still lost six of the eight points on the second deliveries. However,
the 25-year-old balanced that by claiming eight of the 10 on the second returns.
Bury and Vaks went neck to neck in the first half of the decider, levelling the score at 3-3. It was an all Bury show afterwards, as he snatched three successive games to seal it 6-3.
