Alexander Dale Oen wins Men’s 100m breast-stroke title: 2011 Mare Nostrum Series - Monaco
Norwegian swimmer, Alexander Dale Oen, captivated the entire attention of the crowd in the Men’s 100m breast-stroke final at the 2011 Mare Nostrum Series in Monaco, on June 12, 2011.
Oen swam the 100m breast-stroke event with great enthusiasm to clinch the title with a fastest time of 1 minute and 00.24 seconds. Ryo Tateishi and Hendrik Feldwehr secured the second and third spot respectively, in the meet.
Despite his scintillating performance in the 100m breast-stroke, Alexander Dale Oen has now moved in to the Fifth spot in the world rankings. Oen was looking contented with his individual performance in the event.
The pool conditions were very suitable and obliging for him, as Oen swam out of the box with great intent to win the vital clash over Tateishi and Feldwehr.
Dale Oen is a two-time European champion in the Men’s 100m breast-stroke category. The Norwegian athlete won the event in the 2008 and 2010 edition in Eindhoven and Budapest, respectively.
He won the silver medal in the corresponding meet at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. The Norwegian swimmer now wants to win the golden crown in the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Ryo Tateishi grabbed the silver medal in the Men’s 100m breast-stroke final with a distinctive time of 1 minute and 01.10 seconds. Feldwehr settled for the bronze medal in a time of 1 minute and 01.84 seconds.
Earlier, Ryosuke Irie of Japan beat Watanabe and Bernket in the Men’s 200m back-stroke race with a sterling time of 1 minute and 54.34 seconds, while Zueva nabbed the Women’s 100m back-stroke title with a matchless time of 59.37 seconds.
In another event, Yannick Agnel of France beat Cseh and Kyle Richardson in the Men’s 200m free-style final with a distinctive time of 1 minute and 44.44 seconds.
The Women’s 200m Individual Medley and 200m breast-stroke finals are two swimming categories which will also be concluded in the event. Both Hannah Miley and Suzuki are the hot favourites to win their individual clashes at the meet in Monte Carlo.
