Alexander Debus busted in the biggest hand of the event – Five Diamond World Poker Classic 2011
Only 49 players out of an opening field of 413 contestants have survived after three days of enthralling play at the Five Diamonds World Poker Classic on Thursday. Day 4 of the event will start off with Kyle Julius leading the
board with massive 1,457,000 chip count. Julius surpassed the previous chip leader, Soi Nguyen, after eliminating WPT (World Poker Tour) champion, Kevin Saul, on Day 3 of the event. The official leaders’ board reads as follows:
1.       Kyle Julius                    1,457,000

Alexander Debus busted in the biggest hand of the tournament
Level 15 of the event was on its way and Jason Dewitt started off the hand with a raise from his early position, quickly followed by a call from a player sitting in the middle position. Alexander Debut raised the bet to 18,000,
with Kyle Julius throwing four-bets to raise to 85,000 sitting in the blinds. Dewitt and the other contestant sitting in the middle position folded to leave the business to Debus and Julius.
With an ace and a king under his sleeves, Debus moved all-in with almost 450,000 chips and Julius called instantly to make it the biggest hand of the tournament so far. Julius was confident with his pair of pocket queens but a
5-3-2 on the flop lit hopes for Debus, hoping for a 4 on the turn to strike a straight. With a 6 coming on the turn left both contestants drawing to the same straight. A brick on the river left Julius in sheer joy, as his pair of queens prevailed over his
opponent’s cards, awarding him almost one million chip pot to propel him to the top of the leaders’ board by the end of the night.
