Alexander Graham occupies Boys 100m butterfly gold – 2013 GHSF Australian Championships
Alexander Graham of St Kevins occupied gold medal of the Boys 100m butterfly in 17-18 years old category on day three of the 2013 GHSF Australian Age Swimming Championships in SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre, Adelaide on Thursday, April 11.
The 17-year-old Graham lived up to the expectations of his supporters in the 100m discipline and stepped on the podiuhm for gold medal. With his unrelenting efforts, he stayed prominently ahead of his closest competitor and secured the title.
With his commendable pace, Graham enjoyed a full body length lead over his following swimmer and tapped the wall for first position with an effort of 53.52 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Mitchell Pratt of Tigersharks, who was almost 0.70 seconds behind and clocked a time for silver medal with the timing of 54.21 seconds.
The second best finisher was chased by Nick Robertson of Carlile, who was 0.44 seconds apart and surfaced on the finishing end for bronze medal with the timing of 54.65 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Ben Schafer of Willoughby, who was 0.28 seconds slower and clocked a time of 54.93 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the event was secured by Broodie Cook of Helensvale, who was 0.15 seconds apart and emerged on the wall with the timing of 55.08 seconds.
Sixth position of the race was secured by Luke Percy of S-Port Olympic, who was 0.04 seconds behind and touched the wall with an effort of 55.12 seconds.
Seventh fastest spot of the race was obtained by Regan Leong of Kokoda, who stayed 0.13 seconds slower and hit the wall with an effort of 55.25 seconds.
Eighth position of the race was obtained by Isaac Jones of Warrnambool, who was 0.29 seconds apart and touched the wall with the timing of 55.54 seconds.
In addition, Graham was contented with his notable efforts in the double lap event and received a huge round of applause from the crowd after the race. Furthermore, the position holders were invited on the medal rostrum at the victory ceremony of the tournament
after the events.
