Alexander Graham seizes Boys 200m freestyle gold – 2013 GHSF Australian Championships
Alexander Graham of ST Kevins seized gold medal of the Boys 200m freestyle in 17 to 18-year-olds category on day two of the 2013 GHSF Australian Age Swimming Championships in SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre, Adelaide on Wednesday, April 10.
The 17-year-old showed no mercy to his opponents in the 200m discipline and hit the finishing end for the title. With his immaculate efforts, he managed to escape over the finishing end for first position.
He remained prominently ahead of his following swimmer and reached the wall for first position with the timing of 1 minute and 47.70 seconds.
The champion was chased by Regan Leong of Kokoda, who was 2.40 seconds behind and surfaced on the finishing end for silver medal by posting a time of 1 minute and 50.10 seconds.
The second best finisher was followed by Isaac Jones of Warrnambool, who was 0.51 seconds slower and cruised his way towards the finishing end for bronze medal by producing a time of 1 minute and 50.61 seconds.
The bronze medallist was followed by Blake Jones of S-Port Olympic, who was 1.38 seconds apart and surfaced on the finishing wall for fourth position with an effort of 1 minute and 51.99 seconds.
Fifth finest spot of the race was obtained by Jacob Hansford of Atlantis, who was 0.65 seconds slower and stepped on the finishing end with the timing of 1 minute and 52.64 seconds.
Sixth position of the race was obtained by Lachlan McLeish of Surrey Park, who was nearly half body length behind and hit the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 53.09 seconds.
McLeish was trailed by Jack Gerrard of Melbvicentre, who was 0.03 seconds slower and emerged on the wall for seventh place with a timing of 1 minute and 53.12 seconds.
Last spot of the race was obtained by Jack Gerrard of Singapore, who was unable to upset any of his opponents and reached the finishing end for eighth position with the timing of 1 minute and 53.47 seconds.
Furthermore, Graham expressed happiness over his victory in the 200m discipline and stepped on the medal rostrum for medals after the session.
