Alexander Gustafsson: Jon Jones will most probably grab a decision win over Dan Henderson – UFC News
Alexander Gustafsson, the surging Swedish UFC light heavyweight, recently shared his thoughts in a media interaction. According to him, as per his recent UFC communication, he will most probably make a comeback in UFC 151 adding that he predicts Jon Jones
win over Dan Henderson via decision.
Gustafsson, 25, is considered as one of the fastest rising brawlers in the brutal Ultimate Fighting Championship promotion, who has in a very short time secured his place in the top ranks of the division.
The Swedish lad recently collected a unanimous decision win over Thiago Silva, a respectable name in the light heavyweight division and since then is on a medical suspension waiting for UFC to contact him and get scheduled in a bout with another ace light
heavyweight.
It is this reason why during a short press conference, Alexander put forth his thoughts and facts regarding his return and upcoming engagement. When asked as to what he thinks about when he will enter the octagon, Gustafsson stated, “No idea yet actually.
I hope I can fight the end of the summer or somewhere around there."
Alexander also commented that he is ready to grasp the opportunity similar to Frank Mir. It must be noted that Mir was a replacement for Alistair Overeem who was scheduled to take on Junior Dos Santos for the UFC heavyweight title but due to Alistair’s involvement
in illegal performance enhancing drug usage matter, Mir was given a title shot.
Gustafsson commented, “Yeah, absolutely. I wouldn’t say no to that. That’s what I train for: a shot at the title. That’s why I do this. I want to win a belt. (But I have) no idea what the UFC will do. I take it one fight at a time, and I don’t what the UFC
has planned for me. I don’t know what the plans look like. Hopefully I’ll fight somewhere around that time, though.”
Alexander further shared his opinion on the upcoming UFC light heavyweight title clash between Jones and Henderson and predicted, “I think Jones will win that fight. I think it’ll be a decision.”
The Swedish knockout specialist has been in a total 15 mixed martial art bouts and has emerged victorious in 14. Gustafsson has nailed nine of his opponents by knockout, three by submission and two by unanimous decision.
