Alexander Hleb apologizes to Birmingham City for poor performances
Belarusian international, Alexander Hleb has gone to issue an apology to Birmingham City, for his inconsistent and rather poor performances, during his loan-spell for the club. The player arrived from Barcelona to the Premier League side on loan at the start
of the season, however, due to injuries and other various problems, the player is yet to make a mark at the club.
The player went on to state that he has displayed his full potential to the club, but has also expressed his appreciation to the club and it’s fans for the support that they have shown him, during his slump.
When talking to the media recently, Hleb is reported to have said, "I haven't shown everything that I know I can and I'm sorry for that. I wanted to give more but I can't change what happened. But I have enjoyed my time, it's been a new experience here in
Birmingham for me. I fully respect the fans and every single player because these people have done a lot for me."
"Winning the cup this year was just unbelievable. At Wembley the atmosphere was incredible. I didn't play but I still enjoyed every minute supporting our fans and our team. I want to say a thank you to everybody linked to Birmingham City. I have been given
the opportunity to understand the big history of this good club, I've learned a lot," he added
Hleb, who made his move to the English Premier League in the 2005-2006 season had a rather impressive run-in with the Gunners, but decided to make the switch to Barcelona at the end of the 2008 season. Arriving at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38605, the player never really made a name
for himself at the club and only after a season, was deemed surplus to requirements and was loaned to German side, Stuttgart, for the 2009-2010 season. Upon his return from the German club, the player was once again told that he was not needed at the club
and was loaned to Birmingham City.
It was believed that his return to the Premier League would help him regain his prior form, but that has not been the case. The player has suffered a number of injuries, which have limited him to making only sixteen appearances for the team this term. Along
with that, the fact that Hleb is now on the brink of turning thirty, his career is bound to run out sooner rather than later.
All that can be said for Hleb now is that he was a player with ample potential, but the greed to join the likes of Barcelona backfired for him and ended his career before it ever really blossomed.
