In the quarter-final battle, Alexander showed his brilliance on court and overpowered his higher ranked team-mate Marcel Reuter on Monday, July 16.
The in-form Alexander, who is fifth seeded shuttler in main draw of the tournament, put up staggering show of attacking badminton and ousted the third seeded Marcel at the top-eight stage.
Lower ranked Alexander played to his maximum potential and worked really hard to overwhelm his country-mate by ending up the fight in straight sets while taking the court time for 38 minutes.
