In the aftermath of CSKA Moscow’s 3-0 win over Trabzonspor, the former FC Krylia Sovetov Samara head coach, Alexander Tarkhanov, has expressed his satisfaction on the CSKA performance in the UEFA Champions League.
As things stand, CSKA are at the second spot on the group table after the Armeytsy thumped the Turkish club at home. Speaking on the Moscow-based club’s performance, Tarkhanov said:
“The first half was difficult because CSKA knew they needed to score as quickly as possible, because they have been struggling in the competition. In the second half they geared up and finished the match well enough.
“Of course, I liked the result and I initially knew that the Armeytsy are stronger. CSKA are just above the class.”
He added: “Champions League is different from Russian Premier League, where you do not have any margin for errors.”
