Brazilian duo Alexandre Pato and Neymar have gone on to identify the reason behind their sides draw with Venezuela in the Copa America.
The two strikers seem to mutually agree on the fact that the missed chances in front of goal and uninspired performances in the opponents third, are the prime reasons for the team ending the ninety minutes with the score card reading 0-0.
Brazil went into the game being hailed as the favourites to come out on top at the end of the match. However, despite being five time FIFA World Cup holders, the team managed to create only two clear cut goal scoring opportunities throughout the game and
failed to do much with those chances as well.
When talking about the game, Pato is quoted to have said: "I tried, but unfortunately the ball hit the woodwork. The game did not go as we expected. Now we have to forget about this game."
Neymar, who seems to have a lot of pressure on his shoulders, with all the hype that has surrounded him in recent weeks, went on to add that the team was going to improve for their coming matches and in their upcoming fixture against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paraguay-c2979, the team will
be looking to go all out.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Neymar-c27639 is quoted to have said: "This was a good game and our team did very well. We have to work more on our finishing. We want to win, we always do. The goal did not come, but we will work this week for them to come," he noted.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-Silva-c34903 was the only player who seemed to be affected by Venezuela’s defensive approach to the game. The defender managed to pick up a yellow card in the game for a cynical foul, but felt that their opponents were playing a much more defensive game
then the Brazilians and this made it impossible for them to find any space.
Thiago Silva then added: "We apologise, because if we had scored in the first-half, the game would have been different.
"Against teams who play so closed, it is hard to play in the middle, we should have played more on the wings to find more space."
Throughout the course of the game, Brazil dominated possession and were controlling the run of play. Despite that fact, the Brazilians found it impossible to really test the Venezuelan goal. As a result, the underdogs, went on to share the spoils with one
of the tournament favourites.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 are now going to have to step up their game, or they might just end up suffering a very humiliating blow sooner or later.
