Aleksei Igonin tips Arsenal FC’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andrei-Arshavin-c5771 to return to Russian Premier League – Football News
Former Anzhi Makhachkala defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aleksei-Igonin-c4644, has tipped Arsenal FC striker, Andrei Arshavin, to return to Russian Premier League this summer if he wants to keep a place in the Russian national football
team under newly appointed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello at World Cup 2014.
“Andrei Arshavin is now under fire at the moment but I think the player deserves more. I think he will be able to play on the same level and I think he can to return to his best once he will start getting more
time on the pitch. I would very much like to see the player at World Cup. It would be a big issue for him. He is playing in one of the toughest leagues in the world i.e. English Premier League but I think he should return to the Championship of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991,” The
former Saturn Moscow Oblast man was quoted as saying.
The 32-year-old is struggling to find form since returning to Emirates stadium after spending a six-month loan spell at Zenit St. Petersburg.
Arsene Wenger thought that the loan spell will help Arshavin to rediscover his old form that made him a fan favourite. However, the winger-c*m-striker failed to break into the first team following his lethargic
performances after returning to London in January.
The 5ft 8in tall attacker, who managed to score just one goal in the league cup tie against Coventry City back in September, has made seven league appearances this season.
Arshavin, whose current contract expires next month, is set to leave the English Premier League club after Wenger has made it clear that the Gunners are not going to offer him a contract extension.
If speculations are to be believed, Besiktas are planning to sign the out-of-favour Arsenal forward in order to compete with Galatasaray and Fenerbahce next season. The Turkish outfit finished behind the aforementioned
teams in the standings this season.
News in Turkish media suggests that the Super Lig club wants to sign Arshavin on a free transfer but they cannot afford the player’s hefty wages at the moment. Besiktas are reluctant to pay the player more than
2 million dollars per year.
