Alexianne Castel claims Women’s 200m backstroke title: 2012 French Short Course Nationals
Alexianne Castel of Cercle Des Nageurs de Talence claimed gold medal of the Women’s 200m backstroke on concluding day of the 2012 French Short Course Nationals on Sunday, November 18.
Castel dictated terms to her opponents in the distant backstroke discipline and earned her way towards the finishing blockade for gold medal.
With her unstoppable efforts in the backstroke race, Castel remained in a prominent lead over her opponents and stepped on the victory stand for gold medal by producing a time of 2 minutes and 05.42 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Auriane de Premilhat, who stayed three and a half body length slower from her former finisher and touched the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 08.96 seconds.
Premilhat was chased by Marie Jugnet of CN Antibes, who stayed almost two and a half seconds slower from her preceding swimmer and reached the finishing wall for third position by producing a time of 2 minutes and 11.53 seconds.
Fourth position of the race was obtained by Suzanne Afchain of Dumbea Natation, who stayed prominently away from securing her spot on the podium and clocked an effort of 2 minutes and 13.11 seconds.
Afchain was traced by Alice Boutant of Stade Francais O Courbevoie, who was 0.90 seconds apart and hit the wall with a timing of 2 minutes and 14.01 seconds for fifth position.
Sixth spot of the event was obtained by Caroline Marinette of Lille Metropole Natation, who was just 0.13 seconds apart and posted a time of 2 minutes and 14.14 seconds.
Marinette was trailed by Lucia Delcourt of Montpellier ANUC, who suffered a loss of 0.34 seconds from her former finisher and posted a time of 2 minutes and 14.48 seconds for seventh place.
Last spot of the race was obtained by Pauline Galateau of CN Cevennes Ales, who was four seconds slower from her former finisher and clocked an effort of 2 minutes and 18.13 seconds.
Furthermore, Castel received massive appreciation from the crowd for her astonishing pace and said that she would try her best to achieve the same in forthcoming events.
