The Chilean winger played his first season with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 last season and even though there were many expectations attached to him, his injury problems kept him out of action.
Alexis Sanchez has recently stated that he wants to have consistent season with the Catalan giants, Barcelona. Last season, after joining Barcelona from the Italian side, Udinese, Alexis Sanchez was expected to perform phenomenally. However, his injury problems
kept him out of action and when he made a return he wasn’t very instrumental on the pitch.
Last season Barcelona lost two of their main first-choice players, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Villa-c10629 and Eric Abidal. While Abidal’s absence from the first-team led to too many goals at the back, the absence of David Villa caused havoc in the team chemistry as Villa combines
well with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 and the midfield.
However, with Villa out because of a broken tibia, Josep Guardiola decided to play http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexis-Sánchez-c4979 in his place. Even though the Chilean winger is a brilliant player, he was unable to showcase his talent on the pitch for a long time as his an injury struck
him during an integral part of the season and that is why he was unable to perform at his usual best.
The Spanish giants lost the Spanish La Liga and the UEFA Champions League and even though they were favourites to defend both these titles, they were unable to do so.
Barcelona’s coach, Josep Guardiola, has now left the team and it’s Tito Vilanova who will be taking charge of the Catalan side.
Sanchez recently gave an interview regarding the upcoming season and the Chilean winger is hoping that this time he has a consistent season with La Blaugrana.
While speaking to the press, Sanchez said:
"Thanks to all those who worked with me, I now know my body better.”
"This year, I hope not to get hurt so often and so give better performances. I hope to be more regular and consistent."
Sanchez enjoyed a good vacation during the summer as he was not involved in any international games and recently he was played by Vilanova in the friendly game against the German side, Hamburg, which Barcelona won 2-1.
