Alexis Sanchez originally cost Barcelona €43 million – La Liga News
Quique Pina, a Spanish representative of the Italian side Udinese, has recently made a fairly interesting statement. According to the Udinese representative, Chilean international Alexis Sanchez cost Barcelona a sum of around €43 million.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Barcelona-c39078 had reported an initial sum of €26 million, and an additional €11 million in bonuses, for the 22-year old forward on their official website.
It was one of the most speculated signings of the summer, when Barcelona managed to bring http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexis-Sánchez-c4979 to their squad. The Catalan club were reported to have been interested in the player for quite a while.
Sanchez was an impressive performer at Udinese and had been excellent while playing for his country. He was able to manage a very good performance representing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chile-c2871 in the FIFA World Cup 2010. His performance was widely recognized.
He was incredible for Udinese in the last season, when he managed a total of 12 goals for the Italian club. With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Di-Natale-c6306 as his partner, the two were able to strike up a very successful partnership. The dou reached a tally of 39 goals, shared amongst
them.
The forward was on the radar of quite a few European clubs. According to reports, clubs like Manchester United, Zenit St. Petersburg, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 were all keen on signing the 22-year old.
Yet, it was the Champions League winners who managed to put pen to paper and signed the youngster in this season’s summer transfer window. The transfer took place on July 20, 2011. The reported fee for the player at that time was €23 million and an additional
€11 million in bonuses.
However, the recent revelation made by Quique Pina has sparked a lot of interest. While talking to Deportes Cope, the representative said:
"Alexis cost them €43m. This figure does not match the fee that Barcelona announced on their official website. They claimed that he cost them a set fee of €26m plus €11.5m in bonuses,"
Many still argue on whether this new revelation is even relevant anymore. But what is more interesting to observe is the fact that, if true, why would the Spanish Champions choose to disclose a lesser fee in contrast to the real amount they actually paid?
Football fans around the world are very eager to find out how this develops.
