The Real Madrid legend has given his backing to the under-fire Real Madrid manager and thinks that he is doing a very hard http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 at the capital club
Real Madrid are going under a very torrid time this season, and as great things were expected after Los Blancos’ last season heroics, things have turned out to be exactly the opposite.
Winning La Liga, and bringing an end to a three-year domestic domination of rivals Barcelona was seen as a feat worthy of much praise, but it seems that the capital club have now rested upon their laurels, despite moving ahead
in the positive direction.
The Whites of the capital are currently placed third in the Liga, being a massive 16 points behind arch rivals http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, and even trail fierce city rivals Atletico Madrid in the standings.
If media were to spot one man, who was to be held responsible for the in-efficiency of the Madrid comrades, then without doubt the finger points at Madrid’s manager Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese did ever so well since arriving at the club and as his reign promises, no season has gone without a trophy.
Yet, this season has shaped up to be a very different one.
The Madrid giants failed to top their Champions League group and have subsequently drawn English giants Manchester United in the last 16 tie, which is not an easy fixture at all.
However, despite the heat and pressure coming the manager’s way, Real Madrid’s all time great Alfredo de Stefano believes that the criticism coming the manager’s way has been totally out of order and he deserves much more respect
and support.
Stefano stated that the job to lead the Madrid giants is not at all easy and Mourinho’s efforts must be appreciated.
“Mourinho is doing a difficult job and you have to support him,” said the 86-year-old. “Especially as there is still so much to be achieved in a united season. We still have to fight for titles and I am confident that we can win
the Champions League. Signings? That’s up to the Coach.”
Real Madrid are currently placed third in La Liga’s standings.
