*Please explain in-depth - I want to understand, not just the answer!*

1) Write in standard form an equation fo the line with the given slope through the given point: slop=2/5, (6,7)

-2x+5y=C ? Just a little confused...

    I'd suggest that you start by writing the equation in Point-Slope form, because that's what you're given - a point and a slope. According to the wikipedia article, point-slope form would be y-y1 = m * (x - x1) so from your example, that's y-7 = 2/5 (x - 6). The next step is to change that into Standard Form, which according to Wikipedia is Ax + By = C. Use algebra to expand the point-slope form, and rearrange:

    y-7 = 2/5 (x - 6)

    y-7 = 2x/5 - 12/5

    (the x term and 7 swap sides)

    y - 2x/5 = 7 - 12/5

    y - 2x/5 = 35/5 - 12/5

    y - 2x/5 = 23/5

    finally,

    -2x/5 + y = 23/5

    or multiply by 5,

    -2x + 5y = 23
