  1. Let n be the number of tickets and t be the total cost of all ot the tickets.

    t = 3.5n

  2. x=number of tickets

    y=cost

    y =3.5 x

  3. Assume the "#" is your x colume, and "tickets total cost" is your y column.

    x | y

    -------

    2 | 7

    4 | 14

    6 | 21

    So, you have three known points: (2,7) (4,14) (6,21)

    FIRST, find your slope.

    Slope = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)

    Choose two points, and plug them into the above equation. I will do the first two given points.

    Slope = (14 - 7) / (4 - 2) = 7/2 OR 3.5

    From here you can use the slope-intercept form of a linear equation:

    y = mx + b

    where m is slope, and b is your y-intercept

    To find 'b', plug a point into your new equation. (You already know m)

    I will use the first given point.

    7 = 3.5(2) + b

    7 = 7 + b

    b = 0

    Now, you know both m (slope = 3.5) and b (intercept = 0).

    So, your equation is:

    y = 3.5x + 0

    Or simply:

    y = 3.5x

  4. well from looking at it each ticket is $3.50 (i found that by the 2 tickets one, u spilt 7 since its two tickets) so lets make the ticket number X and total cost Y so 3.5X= Y

    so u replace X with number of tickets

    and you multiply that by 3.5 and you'll get Y which is total cost

    is that good?

  5. okay you have 2 tickets and the cost for the tickets is $7. if the cost of 2 tickets is $7. how much s the cost for 1 ticket? you get this answer by dividing 7 and 2 and you get $3.50. 3.5 is your foundation. For every one ticket you buy, you add 3.5 to the previous or multiply 3.5 by the number of tickets you have.

    example: i have 6 tickets. how much would that cost? (yeah i know the chart tells you but bare with me). you add 3.5 6 times or mulitply 3.5 by 6.

    x is the number of tickets and y is the total cost. therefore the equation is y=3.5x
