  1. catfish, plecs, loaches, are all compatible with angel fish and they do a great job as i have all these and more in my tank

  2. I recommend Oto cats. they only get an inch long and you wont get into the trouble of  it getting to large like alot of plecos.  only thing is that otos like to school so you would need at least three.    if not these then bristlenosed plecos, they also wll not out grow your tank, get one or two oth these.  also, both of these fish do not get agressive, most other algae eaters will get agressive as it gets older.

  3. Bristlenose Pleco's are awesome! I just got one and he started working on my brown algae right away. Plus they don't get big like common pleco's. Plus they look cool and are fun to watch.

  4. first of all make sure your fish tnak isnt in direct sunlight, if it is thats why theres algae, secondly try to feed your fish less that might help, but if you want a good cleaning fish for that p-lecos are the best, there cheap, hardy, and they defend themeselfes when threatened but arent agressive, and as for outgrowing your tank, many people would love a huge pleco and would purchace one from yuou and youd have enough to start out on a small 3 incher from petco again, if not sell it its easily giving away (or put it in the freezer if no1 wants it)

well i dont know about angel fish but i have a pleco in with my piranha tank and it doesnt get bullied by the piranhas

  5. Otos are lovely litle fish always busily eating algae, I haven't tried them with big angels, but I do have a couple in a 15 gal tank with a half grown angel and they take no notice of one another..

We have 2 bistlenose plecos with our pair of angels although in a 75 gallon, they are a peaceful fish but not very exciting because they spend most of their time hiding.

  6. Otocinclus or Ghost Shrimp would be the two best choices for your small tank :)

Neither will outgrow your tank. Do not bother with a pleco... it will just outgrow your tank

  7. Look for a Bristlenose Pleco. The common ones will grow too big for a 30gal tank, 12" plus.

You cant rely on algae alone to feed a pleco, and they dont eat all types, but I have found the little Bristlenose are pretty good and controlling it.

Feed them a bit of fresh vege like zuchini, cucumber or mushroom and some sinking algae tablets and they will be happy.

They are peacefull, but quick and armour plated, so the angels wont harm them.

  8. Normally I'd say an Oto would be ideal for algae issues - they are one of the few true algae eaters, but your angels will probably dine on them for lunch at some point. So I'd go with Ian's answer - Bristlenose Pleco. That is the only plecostamus that is not going to outgrow your 30 gallon tank. You might throw a few big-apple snails in there too.

    Good luck

  9. The best algae eaters for your tank would be one of these

    Common Plecostomus:

    Oto Catfish:

    Ghost Shrimp:

Clown loaches are good but they grow large and you need to keep them in groups! (they are great to get rid of snails though!)

Don't bother with chinese algae eaters they get to 12inch and will kill your angle fish!
