i forgot and my class is really noisy .thats just one problem forr my homework i just forgot how to do the distributive property .

okay, now lets solve this problem which is very easy. this problem signifies multipication. you can tell because these 2 numbers are next to each other.

-2(7a-2)

there are 2 things you are going to multiply. the numbers are 2 7a -2

1. multiply the negative 2 to the 7a. lets pretend the varible a is 3. so were looking at the numbers: 2, 3, and 7. now no matter what order you multiply these numbers the answer is always going to be the same. ( 42 )

so multiply the negative 2 to both numbers.

-2 x 7a is -14a.

now.........................

-2 x -2= 4. ( positive 4 )

so the answer is -14a+4. this is all you can solve, so this is the answer. so distributive property is when you multiply an outside number to numbers in the parenthesis.
