okay so i have no clue how to solve these problems. help and answers please? try to write so a 10th grader can understand it, haha.

okay it says "solve each formula for the indicated variable"

and the three questions are :

1.) V = pie/3 * r2 * h [solve for h]

2.) S = L(1 - r) [solve for r]

3.) S = lw + wh +lw [solve for w]

  1. Solve for the indicated variable means that you have to rewrite the equation so that it says, for example, #1.

    h = something that will still have the variables V and r in it

    So for 1 you would multiple both sides by 3 and get

    3V = π * r2 * h

    You would then divide both sides by  ÃÂ€ * r2

    3V/(π * r2 ) = h

    and you'd do that for each one. If I didn't misunderstand the notation in your problem, that should b correct.

    There's a site that explains it better. I'm trying to explain it without telling you exactly how to do it.
