  1. Multiply by the LCD which in this case is 8x. So multiply every fraction by 8x and you get 12x^2-3=6x

    then you move 6x to the left side and get 12x^2-6x-3=0

    then divide all the terms by 3 so you get 4x^2-2x-1=0

    then you have to simplify by using the quadratic formula.

    your answers then will be {2+2 square root of 5, 2-2square root of 5}

  2. okay...its been a while for me too..but i tried..lets see if anyone gets the same as me : )

    3x/2 - 3x/8 = 3/4

    (2)3x/2 - 3x/8 = 3/4  (when you multiply by 2 then the 2 in the first fraction will cancel and the 8 in the second fraction will become a 4.)

    like this:

    6x - 3x/4 =3/4

    then youll want to multiply by 4 on each side:

    (4)6x - 3x/4 = 3/4 (4)

    this equals:

    24x - 12x = 3

    then you will divide by 12:

    24x - 12x = 3

    _____________

         12

    equals:

    2x - x = 3/12

    x = 1/4

    i hope thats right lol..sorry if its not..i tried!
