The pro shop at the Brighton Valley club ordered two brands of golf balls. Lightning balls cost $2.10each and the swinger balls cost $1.00each. The total cost of lightning balls exceeded the total cost of swinger balls by $660.00. If an equal number of each brand was ordered, how many dozens of each brand were ordered?

I couldnt figure this out and I would appreciate the help....thank you

  1. x = lighting balls; y = swinger balls

    2.10x = 1y + 660

    x = y

    solve via substitution

    600 balls ordered each; 50 dozen each.

    edit: 1 dozen = 12 , so just do 600/12 = 50 dozen...

  2. 1 Dozen = 12

    600 = 12 x 5

    Answer = 50 dozen of each.

  3. I hate math but get A's in it sorry I'm not here I'm in Geometry

  4. If x balls of each type are ordered, then 2.1 x - x = 660 so x = 600. That's it.

  5. OMG i took algebra last year and i hated these... idk im sry

  6. 2.10 x - 1.00x = 660

    1.10x=660

    x=600
