Algebra 2 questions combining like terms plz help!?

3y- (4y+6x) i dont get what to do with the - sign after 3y .. i need the answer to figure out how to do it plz help

  1. With the barckets you should think of it like this.

    -4y -(+6)

    You get 3y-4y-6x.

    Combine like terms and you get -y-6x


  2. That minus sign changes both signs inside the parentheses.

    So it becomes 3y - 4y - 6x which is -1y - 6x or just -y - 6x
