need help solving 2 different problems:

#1) 2k - 1 = k - 5 + 3k

#2) 3x - 7(2x - 4) = 3(1 - 2x)

Need step by step help on solving this problem

  1. 1. 2k-1=k-5+3k

    2k-1=4k-5

    4=2k

    2=k

    2.3x-7(2x-4)=3(1-2x)

    3x-14x+28=3-6x

    -5x=-25

    x=5


  2. 1) 2k - 1 = 4k - 5; subtract 4k

    -2k - 1 = -5; add 1

    -2k = -4

    k = 2

    2) 3x - 14x + 28 = 3 - 6x

    -11x + 28 = 3 - 6x

    -5x + 28 = 3

    -5x = -25

    x = 5
