  1. Equivalent equations are equal on both sides, e.g.

    3 + 8 = 6 + 5

    or

    6x + 2 = 10x -  30    when x = 8

    You just have to figure out each side of the problem separately, and ensure that the totals are equal.

    Hope this helps!  Good Luck!!

  2. If i remember correctly, It means that the equations are equal to each other or mean the same thing like

    x=2y+7

    y= 1/2 x - 3.5

    I'm not quite sure though so you may want to check this website

  3. equivalent equation are equations that have the same solution.

    i.e.

    3x - 2x = 10 --> 1x = 10 so x = 10

    and

    3x - 10 = 2x --> -10 = 2x - 3x --> -10 = -1x so x = 10

    the equations have the same part just arranged in different ways and the answers are the same so the equations are equivalent.
