Algebra II honors inequality question!?

I have some inequality questions that i dont understand

i'm not looking for just the answer it'd be great if you could teach me how to do this particular part i'm confused about

7y-2(y-4k)>6-(2-y)

the part that i'm confused about is the 6-(2-y)

how would i go about simplifying that??

  1. 6-(2-y) is the same thing as

    6x-1(2-y)

    six times negative (two minus y)

    clear?  It's hard to represent when x and the multiply sign are exactly the same for this chat :)

    Now I can distribute

    6[-1(2-y)]=

    6[-2+y]=

    -12+6y=

    6y-12   (just flip em around)

    :)


  2. you distribute the negative sign to (2-y) so that it becomes 6 - 2 +y
