What would this look like on a graph?

x + 4y = 8

  1. it looks like a line that has a negative slope. if you have a graphing calculator just solve for x and put in the equation:

    basically:

    1) x + 4y = 8

    2) 4y = 8-x

    3) y = (8-x)/4

    just plug that in your graphing calculator and you'll get the line you're looking for or your could just graph it with graph paper and pencil.

    coordinates : (4,1) ; (0,2) ; (-4,3)

  3. staright line making an angle of tan inverse of 1/4 with x axis in 4th quadrant

  4. This will look like a straight line making an angle of arctan(-1/4) with the x - axis and passing through (0,2).
