  1. 1. use the point-slope form: y – y1 = m(x – x1)

    where slope = m = 3 and x1 = –3, and y1 = 4

    then substitute:

    y – y1 = m(x – x1)

    y – (4) = (3)(x – (–3))

    y - 4 = 3(x + 3)

    y - 4 = 3x + 9

    y = 3x + 4 + 9

    y = 3x + 13   ===> b
