  2. No, you do not need to pass it if you don't understand it. That'd just be pointless and nonsensical.

What you  *need* is to keep bashing away at it until you do understand how it goes.

If you reckon you've got the answers, have enough faith in yourself to send them in and see how good your understanding of the algebraic process is.

If you're still struggling then try putting it away for a bit, doing something else and then coming back to it later with 'fresh eyes'.

Or, if it really has got you beaten, go back a stage or two and make sure you thoroughly understand *WHY* you did what  you did to solve the 'less tough' algebra problems, rather than just knowing what you did!

If these problems have got you totally stumped, chances are you skimped on your understanding of something earlier in the course. After all, no algebra course is going to include problems without having earlier given you the opportunity to learn the skills you need to be able to solve them.

ADDED: If I'm to solve these equations and thus be in any position to check your answers, you first need to go back & make them a lot more legible and clearer, for instance:

    In Question1:

Where you've typed 10h2, is that '2' supposed to represent the integer 2 (as in 10 X h X 2) or is the '2' supposed to signify that 'h' has been squared (as in

    10(h X h) )?!?

    Similarly, where you've typed - 2h5, is the 5 representative of 5, the integer? (-2 X h X 5). Or were you trying to type -2 X (h raised to the power of 5)?

    Then in Question 2:

Did you really mean to type:

    -e2 - 8e + 6 /-3e2 - 24e + 18 (meaning -e2 - 8e + (6 /-3e2) - 24e + 18)??

Or were you actually attempting to type:

       -e2 - 8e + 6

    ----------------------- ??????

    -3e2 - 24e + 18

( i.e. (-e2 - 8e + 6) /(-3e2 - 24e + 18) which makes heaps more sense in terms of the answers proffered than the expression as you typed it does!)

And so on...and so on...and so on.....
