Can someone show me a step by step process?

Simplify.

1. [(3/x-1) - (3/a-1)] / x-a

2. [(1/(x+h)^3)-(1/x^3)] / h

Solve the equation:

1. (x-3)^2=17

2. x^2+4x+2=0

  1. for the first one i don't know for sure wat u mean

    (3/x) -1 or    3/ (x-1)

    for the second one its too hard to show work cuz it will take like 20 minutes to write it out

    now you have x-3= positive or negative square root of 17

    then you add 3 to both sides and your answers are

    x= 3 +/- square root of 17

    2. you use the quadratic formula (also takes a while to type out)
