  1. help or u want the answer.......

    gather all the 'like terms' on 1 side and solve

    get all the x terms on 1 side and the integer terms on the other side

  2. (1) -4 + 5x = -6x - 114

    -4 + 11x = -114

    11x = -110

    x = -10

    (2) 6(-10 - 7x) = -438

    -60 - 42x = -438

    -42x = -378

    x = 9

    (3) -4 + 5x = -6x - 114

    This problem is the same as number 1. See above

    (4) 4x^2 + 2x = 0

    x(4x + 2) = 0

    2x(2x+1) = 0

    x = 0 or -1/2

    (5) 3x^2 + 11x -4 = 0

    Plug into quadratic formula and you get -4 and 1/3

  3. (1) -4 + 5x = -6x - 114

        11x = -110

            x = -10

    (2) -60 - 42X = -438

            -42x = -378

                x = 9

    (3) same as number 1

    (4) (2x + x)(2x + x) = 0

  4. (1) -4 + 5x = -6x - 114

         11x=118, x= 118/11

    6(-10 - 7x) = -438

    -60-42x=-438

    -42x=-438+60

    -42x=-378, x=-378/42

    #3 is the same as #1

    4x^2 + 2x = 0

    4x^2=-2x

    divide both sides by 2:     (4x^2=-2x)/2

    then divide both sides by x: (2x^2=-x)/x

    x=-1/2

    3x^2 + 11x -4 = 0, use the quadratic equation to solve, good luck
