  1. you'll need to use the quadratic formula, so plugging in all the values, you'll have:

    (3 +- sqrt(9-(4)*(2)*(-6)))/4

    when reduced that's:

    (3+ sqrt(57))/4

    AND (3-sqrt(57))/4
