If I wanted to find the equation for a curved line on a graph, would I use the same old "find the slope, use y=mx+b for b, then use y=mx+b again"? Or would I use a different formula?

  1. different formula

  2. if you know the coordonats of 2 point on the curve, lets say A ( xa; ya) and B( xb; yb)

    you can use this formula:

    (x-xa) / ( xb-xa) = (y-ya)/ (yb-ya).

by replacing xa, ya, xb, yb with numbers, you can then calculate and get a formula like y = mx+b.

    hope this helps!
