Ali (1971 -1974 ish) vs Tyson (post spinks but pre lay off) I? ?

Question

Round 1 Tyson chases Ali around and engages the action. Ali ducking and dodging and attempting to pepper Tyson with the jab while clinching. Tyson gets his attention but Ali escapes the round 10/10 round.

Round 2

Tyson hurts ali with a combo ali counters but Tyson bullies in this round. Tyson 10/9

Round 3

Same as the first round but Tyson is landing a few power shots and ali is effectively keeping tyson at a distance with jabs and movements. Ali ends round with a flurry.

Round 4

Ali attempts to dance and evade will peppering with Tyson with a jab and effectively countering but Tyson hurts ali and tries to end it. ali attempts the survive barage but it eventually is taken down and gets a standing 8. Survives round and is hurt. 10/8 Tyson

Round 5

Tyson seeing an end in sight goes for the kill. Ali clinches and keeps tyson at bay with jabs and counters. Tyson lands a hard right and Ali is down for the second time. Tyson cant finish him off and Ali rallies at last minute or so of the round and Tyson looks a little vunerable and confused. 10/8 Tyson

Round 6

Ali seems to be turning the tide in the fight. Tyson begins to head hunt as his stamina looks as if it maybe a problem. Ali controls rounds in typical ALi fashion. Ali conviningly wins both rounds. Crowd chants ALI ALI ALI

Ali wins the seventh in much of the same form as the 6th. In round 8 both show why they are the greatest and the badest man tp ever box.

A bad cut opens on the left eye of tyson and the ref call for time to examine the cut.Round 9

All ali and Tyson goes down in middle of round with a phantom knock down (looks like Tyson was off balance and slips). Tyson is angered and gets sense of urgency. Tries to take Ali out and the takes control after getting to ali with a furious attack. Tyson still loses round

10/8 Ali

Round 10

Tyson although suffering from the cut has ali a little tired and from evading and the clinching and tysons attack. Attempts to go to the rope-a-dope but is to no avail and tyson wins the round impressively. 10/9 Tyson

Round 11

Tyson furiously attacks in this round and has ali hurt early. Ali realizing the fight is almost over begins to taunt and evade will jabing and flurries that really dont do any damage and tyson is still attacking. 10/9 Tyson

Round 12 Ali shows he is the greatest ( and he is trained to go 15) keeps away from tyson as strategy predicts he will make one last attempt for the kill thinking he may need a ko to win or atleast a knock down. 10/9 narrow victory in round for Ali.

ali took the best punches from lyle and shavers, so i think he would frustrate tyson, wear him down and stop him in 10 rounds.

We've done this many times but here goes again.  Interesting read but I don't see Tyson scoring two knockdowns,  maybe one.  I could see it happening in the early rounds.  

ALI-Prime finishes Tyson off in the later rounds after pitching a near shutout.  ALI -71 takes a better punch but gives up a few rounds.  Still he's smart enough to force Tyson to extend himself.  ALI had a unique way of exploiting the weaknesses of his opponents.  

Tyson isn't a 15 round fighter.  He's not even effective in a 12 rounder if you extend him past 6-7.  Look at his track record.  ALI is the MASTER of 15 rounders.  NO one, does it better because the FEW who can go 15 effective rounds are punchers.  

ALI- 71 was strong enough to tie Tyson up and take enough of his punches to extend him into the later rounds.  After round 8 it's all ALI's fight.  Tyson makes a finally rally in round 11 but ALI makes him pay for it.  

The referee steps in mid-way through round 12 when Tyson can no longer see the punches coming at him or defend himself.

this could be about accurate if you put a bunch of stats into a computer. Ali was better at the sport of boxing and could win based on his reach and size, but tyson was the tougher fighter
