The Toulouse goalkeeper has expressed his delight after scoring an injury time equaliser to rescue a point for Les Pitchouns in 2-2 draw at home to Rennes
The 21-year-old was the hero for his side this past weekend as he scored a 95th minute goal, his first for Toulouse in 41 Ligue 1 appearances. And the goalkeeper is buoyed by his first senior goal, and has termed the strike as magical.
While talking to reporters, the Frenchman stated that he had a feeling that he will score tonight. TFC were struggling to find the back of the net, and he imagined scoring for his side.
Ahamada said that it was probably their last chance in the game, so he decided to go forward. Losing was a scary thought and it was Les Pitchouns’ determination to win, that encouraged him to do something special.
“As the game progressed I had this image in my head that I would score. On our last attack I didn’t ask any questions, I just ran up the field with a determination and will to win.”
The 21-year-old, who has represented http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 at Under-21 level, said that he went to the back post as he was told, and luckily no one marked him.
Ahamada added that it was a great ball and only thing in his mind was to make enough contact with the ball. Luckily the ball found the back of his head, and Rennes’ shot-stopper failed to stop it.
“Serge told me to go the back post and no-one really seemed to mark me. Wissam played in a super ball; I saw the near post and managed to get to the ball with the back of my head.”
The youngster said that it was like magic, and has thanked supporters for encouraging him in every game.
“I had a flash – a vision – that I would score and then run to the crowd, because they encourage me in every game.”
Toulouse, who are currently 7th in the league with 9 points after 6 games, travel to Stade de l'Aube this Saturday, to take on Troyes, who are at the bottom of the table.
