Ali Carter believes Judd Trump has tough times ahead: 2012 World Snooker Championship
Second round clashes of the 2012 World Snooker Championship have started at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield where top guns of the game are battling to book their place in the quarter-final stage. Former World Snooker Championship finalists, England’s Ali
Carter and Judd Trump have also booked his place in the second round of the event.
The Captain, Ali Carter believes that the Bristolian potter, Trump has tough times ahead in his career because he has just started his campaign. The 2011 World Snooker Championship runner up, England’s Judd Trump defeated Dominic Dale in the first round
and is aiming to hit the Championship title that he lost previous year against John Higgins.
Trump truly came in the fore front of the game after he clinched his first major ranking title winning the 2011 China Open. Reaching the final encounter of the 2011 World Snooker Championship was another mile stone he achieved during his season campaign
last year. Carter believes the youngster has worked really hard to claim this success but still has a long way to go where he will face a lot of hurdles.
While speaking to the local media, Carter said, “He's done well. He's riding on the crest of a wave. He plays a very open game which is all very well when it's all going well for you. When things do turn, which they will, no player can keep a run of form
up forever. We'll see how he handles that.”
He added, “All of us top players have been about a few years have been on the back of some bad results. And he hasn't had to experience that yet. The amount of balls he goes for when he has those battle scars will show us what he's really made of. I don't
think he's got the mind to grasp where he actually is.”
Both Carter and Trump will be facing each other in the second round to book their place in the quarter-final stage of the competition. The clash will be quite thrilling because both cuemen have played pretty well in the first round and have got good confidence.
