Ali Carter disappointed after losing to Ronnie O’Sullivan in 2012 World Snooker Championship
Former two-time World Snooker Championship finalist from England, Ali Carter was unable to play according to the expectations of his fans present at the Crucible Theatre arena in Sheffield. The Captain had no chance to come back into the game as his opponent,
Ronnie O’Sullivan, took control over the table from the start and did not let Carter get back in business.
The first session of the final encounter was quite tussling as both potters went neck-to-neck in an attempt to get an early lead. However, O’Sullivan finished the first session at 5-3 ahead putting Carter under immense pressure. Carter played outstandingly
in the second session of the clash as he clinched four frames but it was not enough as O’Sullivan cruised into three-frame lead at 10-7.
Carter was pushed four frames down in the beginning of the third session and he tumbled down by the score line of 14-7. Carter bounced back into the game again and took three consecutive frames to move three frames up at 14-10. After that Carter could win
only one frame but on the other hand, O’Sullivan breezed into four set wins and lifted his four the World Snooker Championship title. Carter was very disappointed over his loss.
While speaking to the media after the match, Carter said, “I'm just disappointed to lose. I didn't feel like I played well in the final, Ronnie put me under all kinds of pressure out there, his safety was unbelievable, even his break offs had me in trouble
every time. I was pleased I did compete and I'll be back next year.”
He added, “Ronnie played the better snooker so he's going to get the luck, but the better man won. He's a genius and it's the Ronnie O'Sullivan show. Tonight I was just trying to make a game of it, I didn't do anything wrong there, I had one chance and won
the frame from it, in the other ones I didn't have a sniff.”
Carter will now be looking forward to make an appearance in the next snooker season. The upcoming snooker season will commence with the World Snooker Qualifying School (Q School) at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield.
