Ali M Bleasdell wins Women’s 200 yard IM gold – 2012 Rice Invitational, Houston
Ali M Bleasdell of TX Christian-NT won gold medal of the Women’s 200 yard Individual Medley (IM) at the 2012 Rice Invitational in Houston USA on Saturday, October 27.
Bleasdell spoiled the party of her rivals in the eight-lap discipline and ensured her place on top of the victory stand for gold medal.
She remained prominently ahead over her Rice-GU’s Madison P Livingston from the start and sprinted her way towards the finishing wall for the title.
Her astounding pace remained more than a body length ahead of her toughest challenger as she occupied the title with a wonderful timing of 2 minutes and 07.01 seconds.
The champion was followed by Livingston, who was 1.14 seconds apart and surfaced on the wall as second best finisher with an effort of 2 minutes and 08.15 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Kylee R Talwar of Rice-GU, was 1.19 seconds behind and tapped the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 09.34 seconds for bronze medal.
Fourth finest spot of the race was obtained by Reka X Kovacs of HU-GU, who was half a body length behind and settled on the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 09.82 seconds.
Kovacs was traced by Quincy E Christian of Rice-GU, who was two strokes behind and hit the finishing end as fifth position holder with an effort of 2 minutes and 10.20 seconds.
Sixth position of the race was secured by Aly B Davis of TX Christian-NT, who was 0.37 seconds slower from her former finisher and posted a time of 2 minutes and 10.57 seconds.
Subsequently, Davis remained almost a body length ahead of her team-member, Victoria Thicke-Rattray, who reached the finishing end as seventh position holder by producing an effort of 2 minutes and 11.39 seconds.
Eighth spot of the race was obtained by Lilly I Marrow of Rice-GU, who stayed 0.07 seconds slower from her preceding swimmer and tapped the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 11.46 seconds.
In addition, Bleasdell was overjoyed with her title claiming effort and collected accolades after the session.
