Ali Modami files petition against Philadelphia Phillies’ Ruben Amaro Jr. in the court - MLB
Washington Nationals’ batting practice pitcher, Ali Modami has filed a petition against Philadelphia Phillies’ General Manager Ruben Amaro Jr.
Modami has accused Amaro of destroying his prospects of getting a decent job by spreading negative information about him.
Modami carried out the same job for the Phillies that he did for the Nationals in 2012 regular season. He was dismissed by the Phillies.
GM Amaro was responsible for his sacking as he thought that the hurler is not serving the team well.
He was angered by the unprofessional behaviour of Modami after he came to know that the hurler is possibly maligning the reputation of the club.
By the time Amaro got rid of Modami from the team, he did not stop there. As far as the contention of Modami in the report is concerned, Amaro went on to ascertain that no other club offers him the contract.
Modami has claimed that the Phillies’ GM created hurdles for him. Furthermore, he was successful in convincing his prospective employers of not hiring the pitcher in their organisation.
The response of GM has yet to come. The Phillies’ spokeswomen Bonnie Clark has played down the lawsuit stating that it is just an allegation and until a substantive development takes place they will not speak about it.
“We have not been served with the complaint yet so we’re not in a position to comment,” said Bonnie Clark. “Additionally, it’s the Phillies practice to not comment on pending litigation.”
Additionally, Clark took the opportunity to claim that the Phillies are against the idea of showing impulsive reactions. For as long as the petition is not heeded to by the authorities, they will not give their verdict on the issue.
In order to substantiate his allegation against the Phillies, Modami gave accounts in the report which can pave way toward the conclusion that Amaro did play an important role in disallowing him from getting employment.
He mentioned the name of the persons that witnessed the GM being active while the negotiations between him and the other clubs with regard to the job were underway.
It will be interesting to see as to how this development will affect the focus of Amaro in the offseason.
