I believe Sugar Ray Robinson was the best, Mohammed Ali may be in the top 10 best heavyweghts of all time, but definatley not the best overall boxer.

I remember him winning his Gold medal in the Olympics, and the late Eamon Andrew's prophetic comment, 'We're going to see a lot more of this young man', Andrews was the sports commentator at ringside.

I've followed his career ever since and I honestly believe that at his best, he would have beaten any other boxer ever at their best.

Ali is a total legend and icon cant take anything away from him. However I think if Tyson met him in his PRIME then he would have destroyed him, and please note I'm talking about Tyson in his prime when he was hungry and before he lost it. But Sugar Ray Robinson is widely regarded as the the best P4P ever ...

Sugar Ray Robinson is the best boxer of all time.  I would say Ali is the greatest showman and fastest heavyweight boxer of all time.  That is taking nothing away from Ali who transcends much more than boxing.

i think ALI was the best heavyweight of all time...he fought at a time when there was an incredible amount of talent in his division and unlike some boxers cough cough* rocky marciano he actually fought ppl in their prime....sonny liston, joe frazier, george foreman, ken Norton... just to name a few.. as far as the best boxer of all time hes definitely in my top 5.
