Aliaksandra Herasimenia occupies Women’s 100m freestyle gold – Swimming news
Aliaksandra Herasimenia of Bulgaria occupied gold medal in the event of Women’s 100m freestyle on third day of the Swimming events at the 2013 World University Games in Kazan, Russia on Friday, July 12.
The Bulgarian swimmer devastated hopes of her opponents in the 100m discipline as she sprinted her way towards the finishing end for gold medal. With her commendable pace, she remained prominently ahead of her toughest challenger and emerged on the wall
for the title.
With her commendable form, Herasimenia stayed in a considerable lead over her supporters and surfaced on the finishing end for first position with the timing of 53.50 seconds.
The champion was chased by Veronika Popova of Russia, who was half a boy length slower and emerged on the finishing end for silver medal with an effort of 54.12 seconds.
Third spot of the discipline was obtained by Megan Romano of USA, who was almost 0.30 seconds slower from her former finisher and touched the wall with the timing of 54.45 seconds.
Fourth position of the discipline was obtained by Sandrine Mainville of Canada, who was 0.42 seconds apart and settled on the finishing end for fourth position by clocking an effort of 54.87 seconds.
Fifth position of the event was obtained by Margarita Nesterova of Russia, who was 0.14 seconds slower and tapped the wall with the timing of 55.01 seconds.
Subsequently, Margarita was chased by Melissa Mitchell of Australia, who was 0.34 seconds slower and clocked an effort of 55.35 seconds for sixth place.
Mitchell was chased by Rebecca Claire Turner of Great Britain, who was 0.11 seconds slower and posted a time of 55.46 seconds for seventh place.
Eighth position of the event was obtained by Mari Sumiyoshi of Japan, who was 0.23 seconds apart and hit the wall with the timing of 55.69 seconds for last position.
In addition, Herasimenia was extremely overjoyed with her top finish in the race and stressed that she would try hard to make a reasonable improvement in her effort. Furthermore, the winners received medals and accolades for their notable forms at the prize
ceremony of the race.
