Alida Chen beats Luise Heim in Women’s Singles qualifying round at Yonex Dutch Open 2012
Netherlands’ upcoming shuttler Alida Chen found an impressive start as she played with remarkable precision and overpowered Germany’s Luise Heim
in Women’s Singles qualifying round at Yonex Dutch Open 2012 in Netherlands, on Tuesday, October 9.
The impressive Alida, who has been struggling hard to find a good flow, played with precision on court and remained successful in beating her German opponent in straight games with a decent difference on score board.
Alida had to dig into her arsenal to produce impressive shots and she elevated her play at the right time and eventually won the match in straight sets with a reasonable difference by taking 30 minutes on court.
On the other hand, German shuttler failed to put up strong show as she could not maintain her speed all the way and also committed mistakes on the crucial time. She bowed down to her local opponent in straight games with a respectable total on the board.
In the first game, Alida was in remarkable form as she played with tremendous precision and managed to establish her worth by taking a reasonable lead at the early stage.
However, the Dutch lady could not maintain her upper hand as Luise also showed her brilliance and stayed close on score board until the end of first half.
After the one-minute break, Alida again geared up her speed which helped her to take the bird early from all areas and she managed to finish up the first set in a remarkable fashion by a 21-17 score on the board.
In the second set, Luise changed her tactics and she did not let Alida to play attacking badminton. She did not commit any unforced errors and progressed closely on score board until the one-minute interval.
In the concluding half, Alida also displayed her incredible skills on court and both ladies reached at 20-20 while remaining focused on court.
At this crucial stage, it was the local player who showed impressive performance and took two straight points and ended up the set with a 22-20 score on the board.
Alida won this qualifying round battle against her German opponent with a decent total of 21-17 and 22-20.
