Alien sightings: Has an insectoid alien sighting ever been made?

12-13 feet tall, bipedal, slender, grasshopper-like long legs, light-weight sinewy "crispy" tissue, dark gray, fast-loping? (I write children's stories). Any image links of like sketches?

Although life almost certainly exists elsewhere in the universe, the immense distances between stars makes interstellar travel practically impossible. No scientist has ever been able to examine a real alien, so all descriptions are nothing but fantasy.

Why are you scaring little children with imaginary beings?

Your description doesn't sound very insectoid to me. By definition, an insect has six legs, not two. Perhaps you mean "exoskeletal" alien. Why must you scare the little kids, anyway. Try writing something believable, like Earth is frequently invaded by insects from space, and you can see them in your own back yard. They don't have to be malicious; we're the monsters, always cooking up new ways to annihilate the cute little critters.
