Alien-themed 30th birthday ideas?

We are having an alien/space themed party for my partner's 30th birthday and would appreciate any ideas for decorations/costumes/food. We live in Australia.

The good thing about your idea, is its original but some people have done it so you can get ideas from them.

My suggestions:

For an invitation you could make tshirts with a cool slogan (I went to _____ 30th and all i got was this lousy tshirt, or something about aliens.. I can't think of anyting right now but if I do then I will tell you!)

You could have an alien shaped head cake (with thirty eyes!!!!)

You also HAVE to have a lot of jelly... thats a very alien dr who kind of looking meal.. make sure everything is of a strange colour. Have tonnes of those little glow in the dark stars on the wall and celing and put fake paper machet craters etc around the place to make it seem as though you're standing on a strange planet. you could also randomly stick big googly eyes here and there and make everything really dark. Fluro sticks are a good idea... especially if you're going to have a dark room :P:P

Costumes... they have to be shiny and make sure you have googly eyes!!! lots of glitter too :P

INVITATIONS- In the shape of a UFO and write something deep spaceish (ieti.org/articles/brin)

BALLOONS-Hang them like planets in the main area.

COSTUMES-Star Trek & Star Wars characters are obvious but what about Futurama, Red Dwarf, The Jetsons, Lost in Space or for the more conservative, Men in Black,  NASA astronauts or scientists.

CAKE- Make a moon cake or a planet cake

DRINKS- Make a punch that is green and call it something like an 'Alien Allrounder', or a red one, a 'Thruster', a 'Rocker Launcher' ...etc.  Have a blast!

you could dress up as alien kangaroos with freaky kangaroo meat as side dishes?

Cake: in a circle shape, but but colour the icing so that it looks like a UFO, a planet or something.

Balloons: get alien themed foil ones from party stores.

Costumes:Dress up as your fave thing from outer space.

Food: You could get cup cakes and ice them black or blue, like space then get those edible  silver balls, and stick a couple on each one like stars.

Invites: Do rocket shaped ones that say "Blast off". or something.

Hang fairy lights from the roof, and keep the light out.
