Sega has shown gamers what a $100 can get them although they won’t be able to get their hands on the game until next year. Oh, the edition is also filled with all kinds of content both physical and virtual.
Aliens: Colonial Marines may sound like a familiar name of a game you may have played a few years ago. It may also sound familiar to those who lay witness to the hidden sexual undertone-ridden movie that was released all those years ago.
However, the reason gamers will remember the name is because the game has been in the works for as long as one can care to remember. However, constant delays and a lack of information relating to the game meant that the human brain probably put the name
in the ‘history’ department.
Having said that the $99 Collector’s Edition is set to bring those memories right back to the forefront as it offers more content in one box that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 does during its annual DLC season.
The Collector’s Edition includes the game (obviously), a “High Quality Resin Powerloader Figurine in Limited Edition Xeno Hive Box”, it also grants players access to four of the movie’s characters, namely Private Hudson, Private Drake, Corporal Hicks and
Sergeant Apone.
“Additional Marines Character Customization Options” will also be made available, as will Ripley’s Flamethrower and a host of “Exclusive Multiplayer Weapons” such as the Phase Plasma Rifle and the Sonic Electronic Ball Breakers.
There will also be an exclusive level, accessible to only those who purchase the Collector’s Edition as well as a USCM Dossier, a Mission Brief, A USS Sephora schematic and a “Recruitment Card”.
That’s not all as the edition also packs with it a LV-426 Recon Photo, USCM Graduation Certificate as well as a couple of USCM Iron-on Badges.
Gamers who are interested in the Collector’s Edition should be able to preorder it soon, however they would have to endure a long wait until the 12th of February 2013 until they can finally get their hands on the Alien: Colonial Marines content,
which, if one looks at it, is quite a long time.
