The PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC and Nintendo Wii U title slips away into a 2013 release date as fans wonder if the game will ever see the light of day.
Sega and Gearbox have been working on the upcoming Aliens inspired video game for quite some time now. In fact, the studio has been working on the game for ages with no progress made on the release date of the game with news relating to the title restricted
to tidbits and the odd trailer released in the hopes of keeping fans interested.
The game was set to release around January this year before it was delayed until autumn 2012. Now it seems that the developer and publisher feel the need to delay the title until next year in order to give it the time and attention it deserves.
Randy Pitchford, the CEO of Gearbox, took a few moments to finally comment on the official announce date for the game. He said, "I am thrilled to announce the definitive launch date for Aliens: Colonial Marines. Aliens: Colonial Marines is the culmination
of a life-time of inspiration from the films and relentless passion and drive from the exceptionally talented development team behind the scenes."
At the same time the senior VP of marketing at Sega Europe and America, Gary Knight, also took a moment to comment on the announcement when he said, "We knew this game would be incredible from the moment Gearbox began developing Aliens: Colonial Marines.
Now that the title is in its final stretch of development, we can confidently release the exact date that gamers will finally get to experience this blockbuster thrill-ride."
The trailer released to announce the release date showed off a few interesting bits of the game but more importantly put down the 12th of February 2013 as the day that gamers can finally expect the long awaited game to hit shelves at retailers
worldwide.
However, there has been no confirmation as to whether or not the title would be available on the Nintendo Wii U at launch. One can expect more on Aliens and the Wii U to be announced at this year’s E3.
